Hi, I am Montana Mellett but I go by 'Mo' these days.
If you don't count the years of service industry jobs before I started off freelance digital media design in 2017, I've been working on all things related to interpreting media through a digital platform for the last 7 years. In-between all that when I couldn't find a job I also worked as a spicy accountant, it allowed me to set my own hours and dabble in entrepreneurship.
This endeavour serves as a conduit for soulful reconnection and alignment with my core values. My aim is to infuse a sense of creativity, playfulness, and humanity into the world around us, enriching the reality of our shared experiences.
I had the chance to take photos of friends, family and partners on the side throughout the last 6 years. And now, since the beginning of this year (2024) I'm finally taking it seriously to try and make a living out of it! Here we go!

Crafting a narrative unique to you
My goal is to help facilitate a transformative space for those who find themselves on the edges, the outcasts, and the rebels. It's for the sex workers, the polyamorous, the 2SLGBTQAI+ community, the transgender folks, the kinksters, and those who celebrate their identities in the full spectrum of human experience or their allies. Working with me is a supportive, creative energy where playfulness mixes with authenticity and its okay to experience the full spectrum of emotions.
My vision is about uncovering the lore and crafting legacies that challenge, inspire, and transform. It's about building a collective that not only celebrates diversity and creativity but also gives back, turning art into a vehicle for change and connection.

my philosophy
Photography an archival of life, rebellion, and deep, introspective journeys. The world around us both seen and unseen, the people, places, and organisms, shape us. The style that I infuse into my work invites folks into a world where detail tells a story of decay, renewal, and the unbreakable bonds that tie us to each other and the earth. My approach is deeply rooted in the natural play of colour, shadows, and light, to craft images that are not only visually stunning but resonate with authenticity and affirmation.
What's the process behind it all?

Consultation and Vision Setting
I begin by getting to know you, your vision, and goals for the shoot. This helps us ensure that we're a good fit and understand your expectations fully.

Planning and Collaboration
Together, we brainstorm ideas, select locations, and discuss any special requests or considerations to tailor the project to your preferences. Once the details are in place, we get you into the calendar.
03.
Photography Session
You arrive to the location, we chat for a bit to review the planning and collab sessions we had, then we get into it! I capture images reflecting the themes and poses that we discussed in the previous sessions, while also guiding you to different poses through prompts and examples.
04.
Editing and Enhancement
After the session, I'll upload all of the photos onto your portal page and from there you can choose which photos you'd like. Then I do a more thorough edit of the photos you've chosen. I like to emphasize the natural light, colours, and shapes in the images that help frame you.
05.
Delivery and Customization
Finally, I deliver the final edited photos through this online portal, where you can download them digitally. If you desire additional images or customization, or prints we're always available to discuss and accommodate your needs further through different packages.

These collaborations revolve around reciprocity, where the exchange in my unions forms an ever-shifting equation—constantly adjusted, analyzed, and recalibrated.
